MRDA8 MOISTURE PROBE FOR GRANULAR MATERIALS AND POWDERS
The MODEL DA8 is a battery operated, hand held moisture meter designed for laboratory or in plant test conditions. The DA8 can test materials with a fairly consant bulk density and a consistent change of radio frequency properties with change in moisture content, including semisolids, powdered, granular, or textile materials.
Operating on the patented radio frequency power loss absorbtion principle, the DA8 projects an RF Field in to the test area. The RF Field extends approximately three inches from the electrode needles. Any material containing moisture will absorb part of this current and cause a change in the meter readings. The meter reading is converted in to moisture content by referring to a calibration curve established for the material being tested.
WHAT MAKES THE DA 8 DIFFERENT?
The use of solid state sensitivity modules gives the DA8 a uniquely broad moisture range capability. The modules permit more sensitivity in low moisture ranges, as well as the ability to check high moisture content of up to 30%.
Modules range in sensitivity from low sensitivity for high moisture content to high sensitivity for low moisture content. Module 010 has the lowest sensitivity while Model 250 has the highest sensitivity. Includes standard assembly for checking the calibration of the electronics.
The needle electrode consists of two 3/16th" tapered stainless steel needles, positioned 3/4 inch apart.
Longer needles test and average more sample, and yield steeper calibration curves. Five different sizes are available.
